three little sparrows

This tumblr began with a dedication to speak out against abortion, but I have since branched out to include posts pertaining to my Catholic faith as well. My pro-life beliefs are still the greatest driving force in why I even have a tumblr at all, so that is a majority of what you see here.

A six week embryonic age (or eight week gestational age) intact human embryo found in a ruptured ectopic pregnancy case, operated by Dr. Vilas Gayakwad.  This photograph is his own.

  • Heart beat can be heard using doppler.
  • Nipples and hair follicles are forming.
  • Eyes and facial features are developing.
  • Location of the elbows and toes are visible.
  • Myogenesis and neurogenesis have progressed to where the embryo is capable of motion.
  • Limb movements can be detected by ultrasound.
  • All essential organs have begun.
Yes, all very interesting, but the little embryo has DIED the abortion has KILLED IT! Thank you for ruining the life and future of an innocent creature. Maybe the baby was destined to make a scientific breakthrough when it grew up, and now we won’t find out about it for another hundred years! Maybe it would find a solution to child cruelty, child slavery, animal abuse, global warming, a disease! But we will never know NOW, WILL WE?!?!

Abortion upsets me, too.

I’m not sure if you noticed that this photograph was taken by a doctor who was performing surgery after a ruptured ectopic pregnancy case.  In a normal pregnancy, the fertilized egg enters the uterus and settles into the uterine lining where it has plenty of room to divide and grow. About 1% of pregnancies are in an ectopic location with implantation not occurring inside of the womb, and of these 98% occur in the Fallopian tubes.  If left untreated, about half of ectopic pregnancies will resolve without treatment; however, surgical intervention is required in cases where the Fallopian tube has ruptured.

It is very sad and unfortunate, and yes, this baby did lose his or her life… but not due to an abortion.  It was due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.  Since the baby could not survive, it was necessary to then at least save the mother’s life so there was only one victim and not two.

God bless!
